Safeguarding Standards

At Teach Ways, we understand that vetting safeguarding and security is paramount throughout education, which is why we ensure that all of our candidates are 100% compliant. We continually raise the bar, going above and beyond the Department of Education guidelines.

Our candidates and clients can always be assured that all vetting procedures have been carried out using all requirements and more within the industry, allowing clients to comply with their legal obligations for safer recruitment in education.

To ensure that our vetting procedures are always adhered to, we'll only place candidates who can demonstrate the following:

Proof of right to work in the UK (UK/EU Passport or valid Visa document)

Valid photographic ID

Teaching qualification – if applicable (verified by DfE/QTLS check or UK NARIC if awarded overseas)

Current DBS Certificate (including a valid Online Status Check)

Barred List Clearance (formerly List 99)

Overseas police checks – if applicable (for time spent living or working overseas)

Medical declaration

Structured and in-depth competency-based interview

Professional references (covering 2 years including the most recent employer)

Current CV (covering up to 10 years of work history)

Before attending a trial day, interview, or observation, Teach Ways will ensure all client schools have a complete list of the safeguarding checks for every candidate which the school will keep within their Single Central Record (SCR).
